I have a GeForce4 MX440 running on a P3 866 (no overclocking), and after some crazy reboot my icons started appearing all in 256 colors. My dvd player software also started complaining and now doesn't play any movies.
I've tried everything so far:
- Gone thru all the display properties
- Updating nvidia drivers (detonator 40.76)
- Updating my monitor driver
- Removing completely both of the above and reinstalling them
- Updating my Win2k (sp3)
- runninng Tweak UI
- running a variety of registry cleaners and fixers
- running anti-virus, anti-trojans, ad-aware, Norton Disk Doctor and Win Doctor, etc.
I've had this problem before and only fixed it temporarily by removing win2k and installing it again from scratch. But then I had this crazy reboot and my nightmare came back.
Please help me.
