;) Except for TVout the GF4MX420 is a world better than Radeon 32 DDR. Both are close for image quality, hw DVD playback and dual display (your Rad does dd right?), both do these excellently. GF4MX420 is much faster for pure gaming speed, AA, drivers etc.

They make two version of the MX420, one with DDR the other with SDRAM. The MX420 with DDR is definatly better than the older radeon (but it cost more too).

;) For GF4MX420 cards DDR and SDR make no difference at all. Much like the GF2MX days you find the diff is between 128bit SDR and 64bit DDR and hence both operate at the same overall speed ... well DDR isn't quite 100% efficient therefore DDR is actually slower!

Dang, I thought they were past playing games like that. Didn't know the DDR was on a 64bit bandwith.

MX420's are still very good cards considering their cost. I was under the mistaken impression that they were GF2MX400 perf as their clocks suggest. But they tend to come in at GF2GTS perf but with better image quality, AA, DVD playback, TVout and dual monitor support, plus I hear MX420 o/c pretty good too. I can't say there isn't an MX420 out there which uses 128bit DDR but it is unlikely as it would be near enough a GF4MX440!
