They don't. The GF4 MX is based on the GF2 chipset. The only thing this card has over a Ti 200 (GF3 based) is better DVD support. That's it.

Some might consider the dual integrated TMDS transmitters a rather considerable different in favor of the MX440.

Not that I know what TMDS transmitters mean in English. But I'd pick a Gf3 card over any Gf4 MX cards just for the DX8 support in hardware.

I would pick the gf3 ti- 200 if I were to choose a card for day to day or if I were to play games!

I would ONLY choose the mx400 If i were to use the computer as a dvd player for my home entertainment system.

Never ever ever ever get anything from Nvidia with MX in the title, it's a HUGE NO NO! :)

Geforce4 MX 440, more like Geforce2 MX 440 IMO, if you expect to get GF4 performance from the GF4 MX line then you'll be very disappointed., go for the Geforce3 ti200 instead!!!

The Geforce 4 MX 440 has bits of the Geforce 2 MX line as well as bits of the Geforce 4 line.

It is pretty much on par with the Geforce 2 Ultra, It can outperform the Geforce 2 Ti 200 but it's performence is far from the "proper" Geforce4 line (Ti 4400/4600).

But it's not looking bad pricewise when you remember how expensive the Ultra used to be, it should be more than satisfactory for most users.
