I want to purchase a Geforce 4 MX 420 Video Card for a computer that I am building. I noticed that there are several manufacturers for the same card. Visiontek, Pine Techonologies, Jaton Corp, Compaq Commercial, and PNY Techologies make this card. Is one manufacturer better than the other? Any recommendations?

I don't do any heavy gaming or anything. I am just looking for a video card that will work good for internet surfing. One that will be good for viewing MPEG's and AVI's and web pages.

How about a Radeon card if 2D is what you'll be doing most? Looking at pricewatch, the cheapest MX420 costs aboout $58, I can see the Radeon LE Radeon 7500's and Radeon 32 DDR's for that price or less, and the will lose to each of them, while the radeon's will have better 2D features.

For video usage, the Radeons are the one to get. If you don't even do any moderate gaming, just get a Radeon 7000.
