Geforce 4 440 MX - fuzzy text

I'm building my first machine. Since I don't do a lot of gaming, I thought I could go a little budget and get a Maddog GeForce4 440MX card 64mb. The text is very fuzzy. I've played around with the refresh rates and downloaded the latest drivers, both from Maddog and from nvidia. It doesn't seem to solve the problem much. Any suggestions?

Do you have another card that you can install and see how it is with everything else the same in your system to make sure it is the VGA and not something else?

Could also be your monitor, test diff monitor or put that monitor on another system. Basic elimination troubleshooting process

I took my machine to work with me (I'm still here) so let me try another monitor on it and see if that improves things. I don't really have another graphics card to try.

OK, swapped it out with a new monitor. Looks a little better.
