Geforce 3 with LCD/CRT

Before i get bombed for asking forumers for comments for my choices liked in soem forums, I will herby apologise to them.
But I always believe a forum is a place for comments/opinions from every indivudals and thus hope for some feedback from helpful forumers.

My dilemma is I planned to get a Geforce 3 soon but was put off with either puchasing a 15 inch lcd or 19 inch monitor(sony G420)
Reason for this 2 choices is of coz budget. They cost around the same..

I have used an 15 inch lcd on a geforce mx before and i will say i am satisfied with the performance, but as i am getting a geforce 3 and a totally new system with athlon 1.4. I will expdect something better. I have never used a high end crt monitor before and have never compared visually with performance with a lcd..so i can't tell the diff btw lcd/crt in terms of gaming.

My application are alot of net surfing and read ups on articles and news, which means that i spend alot of time facing the net.(pro for lcd...I am wondering on gd monitors like the g420..will my eyes can tired easily..)

I also do some gamings..probably an hr to 2 aday on average...


So pls state yr comments/opinions for what will u get if u are getting a geforce 3.
 
as a gamer,
unless you spend a ton of money, you are not going to be happy with an LCD, especially a 15". Geforce 3 makes it even less sense

Best thing is to check it out by yourself... go to a store and look at them... see with your own eyes.. you may like one over the other... if possible ask the store clerk to let you try a game on one... one thing for sure, LCD's have evolved in the past years... i personally prefer a good CRT but i have not had the chance to game on an LCD lately...
 
LCDs are a waste if you system has a geforce3. You'd be better off w/ teh 19" CRT 🙂
 
The whole point of buying a GF3 is to be able to play games at higher resolutions, so getting a 15inch LCD doesn't really make sense. I would get the 19inch CRT.

LCDs are nice, and the recent price drop makes them more attractive, but they're still too pricey for what you get. Unless you really need the space, a CRT is the way to go.
 
crt. sony's are sweet. Like suga said... the whole point of a gf3 is the high rez gaming.
