geforce 3 to geforce fx 5900 non ultra

I want to upgrade my video card but I don't want to have to reformat and reload xp. I know people have had trouble going from nvidia drivers to ati drivers. If I stick with nvidia and go from my geforce 3 to a fx 5900 non ultra should it go pretty smoothly with just updating the drivers?

it should be fine, heck i went from nvidia to ATi w/o any problems

your taking a chance if you switch to ATI, a good portion of people do have to format. you just update your drivers on your geforce3, then yank it and put in the 5900. simpile as that, no driver cleaners, no format
