GeForce 3 TI200 vs. GeForce 4 cards

I'd like your opinions on something:

I own a VisionTek GeForce 3 TI 200. I'm considering trading it in for a GeForce 4 that's under $250 if there's a decent performance difference.

Do you think the GF4 MX440 will be better than the GF3 TI 200? What about the GF4 MX460?

Also, anyone know why the GF4 ti4400 and the ti4600 are both priced at $399, while the ti4600 is so much better? Does it have to do with incompatablilty between the 8X AGP card and 4X AGP motherboards?

From the reviews I have read, you will need a Ti4400 or Ti4600 to whip up on the GF3 Ti200.

Where did you see this information? 8X AGP is backwards compatible.

I remember that being discussed. It was most likely a typo and the ti4400 was supposed to be 299 (as there was a big gap) and the 4600 for 399.

Thanks for clearing that up about the prices.

And I wasn't sure about backwards compatablility. Many cards that say are 2x/4x AGP compatable are really only 4x. I thought maybe there were incompatibility issues.

From what I've read so far, the MX440 had trouble, but the MX460 was EXPECTED to be really good. Any hard evidence?
