TIA

I'm with boyRacer, I have that same card, and can't tell a difference with Dx9 tho NASCAR 2003 is supposed to use it.

Does the card need to support DX9 ? From the specs this card supports 8.1 ?

You wont see a difference because your card does not support it. It only uses the code of dx that applies to the card. to get dx9 to work you must buy a dx9 card like the ati 9500 on up i believe. and for nvidia, im not sure about the GF4 cards but i know that GF3's on down dont support dx9.

If i'm not mistaken, nVidia cards begin supporting DX9 at either the Ti4600, or the Ti5800.

Geforce 2 = DX7
Geforce 3 = DX8
Geforce4 MX = DX7
Geforce4 Ti = DX8
Geforce FX = DX9

Two reasons, one is it`s free and second being you`ll have to do it sooner or later,I`m using a GF2 Ti with DX9 installed ,no problems with games etc however the main reason why I installed it , is that I intend to purchase a DX9 video card down the road.

So, basically if I do upgrade I will not loose any current functionality, nor will I gain anything.

Anyone having any problems with DX9?

That`s correct, just think of DX9 as a upgrade for future DX9 software/hardware,all your current games etc should work 100% fine with DX9 .

I`ve yet to encounter any DX9 problems,so all is rock stable for me.
