Well a few night I restarted winxp and it told me something along the lines of cant boot winxp cause it cant be found. dont remember the error. So I formatted and installed windown 98 and kept getting regestry errors and it would revert back to the wa it was the first time you boot into windows. I upgraded to windows ME and now everything seems to be working but 3dmark wont start up. its not a big loss but it should work anyways. In windows xp I could run c&c renegades at 1280x1024 fine and in winme I cant run it that fast. I am wondering what is wrong isnt 9x operating systems suposted to be better with games? well if anyone can help me fix that it would be good. I was thinking of upgrading to win 2k but whenever I use a NT based operating system matt hoffman and c&c renegades the music will skip but the sound effects wont, I have a turtle beach santa cruz.

My system specs:
amd 1.4ghz
MSI KT7 pro 2 based on KT133
512mb of ram
Chaintech GeForce 3 Ti 200 (latest reference drivers from Nvidia)
turtle beach satan cruz

Now for my other problem.

My dad just got an 8x dvd player for his comp and there are werd lines moving up and down on his screen and the dvd doesnt run very smoothly. Its a cheap 8x but still it should have any probs reading a dvd just for watching. With the lines going up and down the screen he has some intergrated vid card on his motherboard, I belive some SIS video card. Would have need a better vid card? he bould a cheap comp from futurehshop. celeron 800mhz intragated vid/sound and a proview LCD 15" monitor. there is no agp slot so if Ineeded a better vid card which one would have good hardware dvd playback for a pci slot. He is also running windows XP. thanks again.

Sorry for the really long post but I am at work and the more I type, the more it looks like I am actually doing something.

confused... are you saying your system dual boots (win 98 and xp)?
and about your father's dvd playing... some things to try MIGHT be (i don't know much about this, my compaq came with dvd) v-sync, playing with refresh rates in the settings, ie. 65hz, 70hz, etc.
good luck! hope somebody else is able to help...

No, I had xp and is screwed up so I formatted my drive and tried to install win98 but after I insatlled my hardware and restarted I would get some regestry error and all my
hardware would be gone and I would have to reinstall it all again.
