GeForce 3 problems in Win2k

After reading the praise given to Win2k on the forums here, I decided to give it a try. I did a clean install of Win2k, and everything seemed to be fine.. until I decided to see what kind of benchmark scores I could get in 3dMark 2001. My system is an 800mhz Duron with 384 megs of RAM, and in WinMe I got a benchmark score of around 4000 (not great, I know)... but in Win2k that score dropped to just above 1000! I made sure to download and install the latest 2k detonator drivers... anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks

Scores are always lower in win2k. Make sure you have the Via 4in1 drivers, and latest VC drivers.

1. You install the latest Via 4 in 1's ??? (4.32 I believe, the agp fix is also intergrated within that set of drivers)

2. Are u running the 12.90's or the 12.41's ?? I got a 600 point boost from switching to the 12.90's.

Dont forget your processor is a bit of a bottleneck

I knew that scores would be lower in Win2k before I installed it, but 3000 lower is a little excessive...

Anyway, I installed those via 4-in-1 drivers, and everything seems to be fine now, my score is back to around 4000. Thanks a lot for the help.
