GeForce 3 Problem - jittery screen!

Since I installed my Visiontek, I periodically (and rather often) experience a screen which jitters and moves. I've tried several things - checking monitor settings, altered a Powerstrip setting re: ClkDeviation, etc., changed monitor polarity...nothing seems to work. Bothers the hell out of me....

Any ideas on how to address?

i had a similar problem with my geforce 2 pro...I tried everything under the sun to fix it...out of curiosity i tried the new beta detonators, 12.00 and it seems to have made the problem nonexistent...I would say give em a try whats the worst thing that can happen.
 
The monitor is a ViewSonic PF790. I had the original Geforce DDR, and never experienced these symptoms with it. Not sure what to make of it.

Try turning down your hardware acceleration to none and then see if this still happens. If it does not, go into your output device settings and change from Auto Detect for the display timing and change it to discrete timing formula or the other one (sorry I forgot the exact wording).
 
Pidge: Thanks for your advice. I've already tried changing the timing as you suggested...no luck. I have NOT turned off/down the hardware acceleration slider. Tell me: if that works, what will it do to the performance of the card? Is it essentially not impacted, or does it truly take away the card's ability to perform as it should?

If you turn down acceleration or turn it off, it disables hardware acceleration in 3D and 2D. If this fixes your problem, then it is obviously a software issue. If this still happens, then is is most likely a hardware issue with your video card or a hardware incompatibility between your system and the Geforce 3.
 
Ok...this is gonna sound REALLY wierd...but just go w/ it.... I read on the Geforce FAQ that you should untwist the fan wires on the gpu....i did that, and installed some new drivers, and most of the jittering went away..😕
