Geforce 3 hanging

I just replace my geforce 2 ultra with a Gainwood Geforce 3.

I am hanging when win 2000 tries to load. I have to reboot sometimes several times before I get to the desktop.


Any ideas what could be causing this. Using 14.7 driver, but was using the 12.4 nvidia reference and had the same problem.
Is it an IRQ issue, I wonder? Or is this something generic to this particular chipset, the geforce 2 was using same interrupt with no problem
