GeForce 3 and older games

While newer games look and play like a dream on this card, I can't get older games like Unreal (not tournament), Sin, Requiem, even Diablo II to recognize the card. Requiem is insisting I use Direct X6, but won't load because it detects a version of Direct X already present. It fails to install. Unreal insists that I use Software renderer, and looks like crap. Is this typical for the newer video cards to outstrip the older requirements of older games. I habitually patch any game I'm going to play. I'm running ME and have a PIII 933, if that's relevant. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Oh crap! :Q

I can't help you on this one, but I sure as heck hope you're wrong. No Diablo 2 [🙁], that's 110% SUCK. I just ordered my Visiontek Geforce 3, and that's one of the games I have to finish still. However, I have read about some people having problems with older games, but really old games. The games you're playing aren't that old. What NVidia drivers are you using?

Ummm, right out of the box. I haven't updated the drivers, so yes that could be my problem right there. The 12.90 driver is beta, so I was thinking I wait.

You shouldn't have any problems running any of them games with the GeForce 3 with any of the drivers, On Diablo ll you need the 105 patch but you need that for about any card other than the 3dfx cards, If you added the card after the games were on your computer you would have to reinstall them, On Diablo ll it will save your saved games so that when you reinstall you still have the games you were working on
