If your not into gaming too much than thebest of those cards on a purely price/performace ratio would be the SDR Radeon I'd say.
If your more into gaming than go with the MX card, or if you want to spend a little more than the DDR Radeon is very nice.

The Radeon DDR will give you better performance and video, as well as lasting longer before an upgrade would be needed.

Ok here's the deal, the Radeon DDR can be had for ~130 from buy.com at 160- 30 coupon.

That is the same price of a Radeon SDR so there's no point in getting that. Also the Radeon DDR provides much better gaming power then the MX especially at 32 bit (why would you play anything else?) Plus it has better image quality, and alot of other features that aren't supported by the MX.

If you're not into games that much, then it would last you for years to come.

Get the Radeon DDR

Try to compare side by side. Trust me, you'll make the right decision.

Taz has a radeon so he recommends one.

Stickhead has a GeForce 2 MX so he recommends one.

There is bias everywhere, I have a voodoo so take my word for it.

I do beleive mhan80 is using win2k. One would also have to look at the quality of ATI's Win2k drivers.

Well he did say he's not a serious gamer, that means that FPS isn't his top priority. Maybe good DVD hardware, or superior image quality is what he's looking for with a little spunk to play those games once in a while. And for what he's looking for I think a Radeon DDR would suit him best. But then again the MX is no lagger, certainly something to consider, expecially if you run linux, or want something drastically cheaper.

Either way it's a steal when considering price/performance, but I think the Radeon DDR will last you just a bit longer, maybe not as long as the warranty is provided(5 years), but will certainly chug that system along for some time to come.
