Hi. I just wanted to know if there is anyway to tell if a video card is damaged. I have a GeForce 2 GTS and recently replaced the original failing HSF. I replaced it with a copper HSF which was far to heavy for the thermal pad I used. I left my computer for an hour and when I came back I found the HSF had fallen off. My whole system froze. I have stuck a blue orb on for now and everything appears to be okay. I do get some artifact in quake 3 though. For instance if I move my mouse around near a gateway the textures break up a bit. Also when I use a launch pad near a wall I see all the joints where the textures were applied. Anyway I'm just wondering if it's still okay or if I'm worrying to much. thanks, bye

Are you overclocking? If you are, maybe the card can't handle the overclock with the new fan. If not, I dunno.

if it was doing heavy 3d while you left it might be hurt, but your probably all right. if what you are explaining in q3 is small white sparkles where the textures meet, then that is normal in q3, they are t-juntion errors that happen on every card. try merlocka sujested, if it helps leave it underclocked and you will still probably get respectable preformance.
