GeForce 2 + Windows 2000 = bizarre behavior

Finally set up Windows 2000 Pro on my comp. I did a dual boot with the old Win98 incase I didn't like it. I got the latest drivers from Creative for my Annihilator 2 and there's a bizarre 2d glitch. Sporadically little flickers/glitches/whatever happen all over the screen. I know this doesnt happen in Windows 98 and I also played Quake 3 in Windows 2000 for a few hours and didn't see any of this glitching. It only happens when I'm doing normal things in Windows 2000. I even tried the plain old nVidia reference drivers and theres the same twitching. The problem isn't a full-screen flicker/glitch, it happens in little areas all over the screen. Any ideas?

I get exactly the same thing here with my prophet 2 64MB

Could it be an overclocking issue?.. is yours overclocked?

Mine came clocked at 220/365 thinking about lowering it if new drivers don't help.

Have you tried turning OFF mouse shadows? Mouse shadows with some of the later drivers, ie 5.22, cause problems with that option.

Disabling the mouse shadow seems to have worked. Thanks for the tip, Andy! I miss the mouse shadow though, it was a neat feature. I hope nVidia fixes this.

And no, mine isn't overclocked. That was just a bios problem with the 3D Prophet II 64MBs.

Go to Mouse in Control Panel, go the Pointers tab, and uncheck the Enable Mouse Shadow option at the bottom.

how come when i go into the pointers tab settuing you specify there is no option for this? i really want to get rid of this annoying flicker problem, please help!
