Geforce 2 or ATI Radeon

Am currently thinking of either getting a Geforce 2 GTS or Pro or an ATI Radeon 64mb.So what do you guys think I should get.I play action games and a few rpg's.Thinking of getting serious sam since it looks damn good.

I just installed a Radeon LE 32 DDR in a Duron 800 system I'm building for someone else. And I have to say i'm pretty impressed. Its 2d is excellent, I was impressed by its performance and image quality in D3D.

Overclocking it is definitely worth it, the card would run stably at 190/190 after putting a fan on it. So if you don't mind adding a fan and doing a few tweaks, its hard to beat the $77 shipped price of the Radeon LE.

It's one of those deals that sounds almost too good to be true, but this card is basically exactly the same as a $140 Radeon DDR after you tweak it.

yep the radeon le is the card of choice as far as i can tell. i bulit my roommate a computer with one and its my personal choice, you can get the 64mb if ya realy want but there is no real need for that much video memory. however in the long run it is much nicer than the geforce.

I see a lot of people saying that 64 meg cards are not a big improvement over 32 meg cards. This is not at all true. 64 meg cards really shine. I tested Radeon 64 and 32 meg cards side by side. The 64 meg card is much nicer. That extra texture memory makes a big difference. I'm not talking about super high res either. 1024 x 768 x 32 x high quality. UT is much smoother on the 64 meg card, especially in large maps such as Deck 16. In Q3 if you disable texture compression, you take a small framerate hit on a 64 meg card. On a 32 meg card, quite a bit larger hit. Newer games will be using larger and more detailed textures. A 64 meg card is more future proof than a 32 meg card. If you go for the Radeon or the GF2, I'd get the 64 meg version.

True, the LE is half the price. As many have stated, it is a great value. Beowulf was looking at higher end 64 meg cards.

I was thinking of going with some higher end 64mb video card.Since an LE wont be much of a difference then what I have now.

Does anyone have some insight on how the 2d quality or just the overall quality of Inno3d's Geforce Pro card is.Oh yeah anyone know some good deals on Geforce Pro cards not the ones that are being sold as pro but are only enhanced gts cards.
