Well, I know I've posted a couple thread about this problem, but it just keeps buggin me since I dont have a definate answer yet.
I have a ZX motherboard by Asus (the P2-99), which in the consumer version of the BX set, and if you own one, you'd know that it has AGP1.0 with 2xAGP max. With my newly bought Asus MF2 MX (yeah, an Asus card wont work on an Asus mobo, the irony), the card is highly unstable in games and 3D applications. so far every graphics intense games have crashed within 2-5 minutes into the program, such as Quake 3, Soldier of Fortune, 3DMark, Asheron's Call, etc.
I've tried adjusting every aspect of my PC: the BIOS, the drivers, the IRQs, the features, the swap files, versions of Windows and DirectX, better cooling, etc. Even got another copy of the card, same problem. And no, nothing on my system is overclocked.
After some researching, I've finally came to the conclusion that the BX/ZX is AGP 1.0 compliant, which is not compatible with the GeForce 2 models, according to some posters. But the truth is, most of the Intel CPU owners are running on a BX board, and their GeForce 2s work fine. 1 simply queston: WHY?
The card will work if I disable AGP by putting down the AGP Aperature Size down to 16MB in the BIOS, but then it performances like a Voodoo 1.
Anyone got more info on this issue?
