GEforce 2 MX / possible ASUS a7V incompatibily??? HELP!!!

Hi, about a week ago i was having problems with my GEFORCE 2MX and my asus a7v mobo. The card would run,t he fanw ould blow and all that, but the monitor wouldnt turn on (the orange light stays on) so i took it in for some help and these guys tried a ATI Rage fury pro and the damn thing worked.... So im returning my GEforce and buying an ATI, but can someone explain this to me tho? Why is it not working together? And i see a zillion people's rigs in these forums and tons of em have the two running together... The Geforce PCI worked fine tho... just not the AGP. They tried fiddling with the bios and stuff too, but to no avail... any more info would help... thanks in advance...

you didnt instal the drivers properly, pure and simple

before you remove your old video card you have to change the display adapter to "standard vga pci" then shutdown, remove old card, insert gf2mx, then instal the drivers for the mx card

if you dont instal the standard vga pci driver before you put the geforce2mx card in the monitor will not turn on

of course you could have just used "safe mode" to get into windows and make the changes
