GeForce 2 MX on a PII 400?

Anyone have an idea how a MX Card will perform on a PII400??
This guy has a Creative Voodoo Banshee card and I'm sure that the MX card will kick it's a**. The question is will the performance increase v's dollars on the PII system be worth it? I think the PII only has AGPX1 is that correct and if so is it a major bottleneck? 😱

A friend of mine replaced a TNT card on his PII 400 system with a Geforce DDR. The difference?

He plays Q3 based games(like voyager and FAKK 2 ) @ 1280 in 32 Bit
without hiccups. I own a P3 700e with a V3 2k and i can´t play these games in 1024 @ 16 bit without hiccups.

The P2 400 is ok for the MX. You will gain in Q3 games, and Direct 3d should also improve. In addition, these Banshee cards are suckers in multitexture games like Unreal.(since they don´t support it..)

So, it is a win/win situation.

He can always get a duron setup later.....

Can't go wrong. Ideally there would be a processor upgrade as well, but you will definately see the difference in D3D.

I tried a Herc GF2 mx on my P2b with the agp 1.0 slot and it wouldn't work. I have heard of some people getting it to work and I have also heard of people who, like me couldn't. Just make sure you can return the card.

I still run Banshee's and never had a problem with unreal or UT.They run fine.

I wont waste money on new video cards until I see games or apps I
want/need that wont run on my Banshee's.
