Could any of the BIOS configurations on my motherboard cause my computer to have these weird occurrences of reseting when I start a game or some application (such as codewarrior)?

With any system there is always a chance of problems when you install a new piece of hardware. The best thing to do is not to speculate too much about it and to simply try it for yourself.
