Ok.. my first hot deal - I just picked up a WinFast GeForce2 MX 32MB AGP 4x video card from Electronics Boutique - price $99.00 - and since I live in Delaware there's no sales tax. The card is nice so far and has active cooling (Heatsink fan on the GPU)

I'll post benchmarks as soon as I do some, but if you're looking for an inexpensive GeForce 2, you probably won't find one cheaper. Installation was painless under 98 and 2000.

EB at my local mall only had two and I was there when they put them on the shelf.. as soon as I saw what it was and the price, I bought it. Another guy bought the other one right after I got the first.

tillius, can you post those bnechmarks and system specs when you've run them? I'm interested to know how it performs. I've heard the MX is a lot of bang for the buck

If it is a LeadTek WinFast GeForce2 MX Dual, which lists for $159.99 at ebworld, then that is a great deal. If it is the version without Dual Head and TV out, it is still a good price.

Best price I've found on the Leadtek WinFast Geforce2 MX Dual Head FULL RETAIL BOX is ?? "DELETED"
EDIT: Email from the site that had this card states it only has 1 15 pin output, so it's not dual head. Hope no one ordered one expecting that.......

it is the WinFast MX card...but not dual head! still a good deal? I'm going to run benchmarks on it when I get home tonight and I'll post them. If it's not a good deal I still have 8 days to return it.

Pick up a GeForce2 GTS 32MB (NON-MX) on e-gay for $180....it's a much better card.

I just recently nabbed a 64 GTS2 (non-mx) for $220. It's a Retail Asus...box n' everything. :)

I bought a eVga Geforce2mx for my home computer and it's pretty good. However the eVga one only comes with heat sink, no fan and does not have tv out. This is the first time I'm hearing about a geforce2mx with heatsink AND fan. Double check and make sure it does come with a fan because if it does, then $99.00 is a good deal.

Keep in mind, the geforce2mx is faster than a geforce DDR at like 640x480, 800x600 by a few %.

However a DDR geforce(1) will smoke a geforce 2mx at high resolution.
Geforce DDR(1) go for like $120-$128 on the forsale/trade forum now.

A Geforce 2 GTS will spank both the DDR and the MX. The MX especially at high resolutions. 1024 and up and 32 bit.

So if your stuck with a 14" cr*ppo monitor, get an MX. it will do fine. If you run at 1024x768x32bit and full detail, spend $120 or $170(best price in forsale/trade for gts2) respectively.
