Got one here for you on behalf of my brother. He's got a p3 700, 128 RAM, and a Geforce 2 gts 32MB. For some strange reason if he's running unreal tournament in plain windows 98 he gets really crappy performance. However if he plays unreal tournament under win98se it is just fine. Anyone ever have a problem like this? It's got me stumped. I can't really figure out what benefit second edition could have that makes it run so much better since he's using the same driver version on both (all I know at the time is that it's the det 3 drivers, I've no clue as to what actual revision number it is in case anybodys wondering but I can check). He doesn't want to mess with installing 2nd edition if he doesn't have to so I'm seeing what I can do. I'd appreciate any input you guys could give because he shouldn't be getting that kind of crappy performance just because it's not 2nd edition. There isn't that much of a difference between 2nd edition and standard to make such a huge gap in video performance. Let me know what you guys think.
