I just bought an MSI 815 Starforce GeForce 2 Gts and installed it into my Asus p3V4x. I ran into many problems:

- Trying to load NBA Live 2001 on WinMe results in a crash.
- In Win2K, my sound locks up and dies after a short while. I play a song in Winamp, run another
application and then boom! No sound. No applications will play any audio. When I check Device Manager,
it doesnt show any conflicts.
- Occasionally in WinMe, the computer just freezes. However this is not so in Win2K.
- Quake 3 timdemo gets only 73 FPS on 800x600x32/high quality.
- 3Dmark scores never got over 2300.

I installed Via 4in1 4.04 beta, 4.25(1), 4.05b and neither did anything special
I switched from AGP 4x to 2x and still nothing
I tried Detonator 5.32, 6.13, 10.4b, 10.2b and neither of them helped.

i dont konw if the problem lies within the MSI card or if it is because of the Via Chip. I am frustrated
because I never thought buying a better video card would cause so much trouble (esp nVidia). If anyone
has experienced similar problems, please help me out. My major concern is the sound in Win2K. Thanks.

What version of Direct X are you using? I've found the 6.72 drivers paired with DirectX 7a works the best.

Tried DX 8.0a, still no difference. It seems as if MSI's drivers are the most stable so far. However my sound works fine until I change resolutions, then it locks up.
