IN the talk of the Geforce 2 GTS 64 mb card, some guys said that there is almost no profit on selling the computer hardware upon their experience of working in compusa or some place else.
I must point out here: there is a lot!
I have been to China and Taiwan, the Computer hardwares are so f*cking cheap there. The dealer there sell the samething for a about 1/3 of the price here in the States. 4 example ,We must pay $10 for a Abit cpu converter card plus shipping , in china this card only cost $3. We must pay a NIC card for about $12 , there it only cost $4. the generic sound in Taiwan only cost $2.
The damn dealers make a lot of money.

Yeah...no kidding.

Years ago, when I raced model airplanes, I needed (wanted) a 7 channel radio.

It cost about $350 in the USA. Had a friend of a friend pick me one up in Thailand and sneak it into the states for around $100. The unit he got was actually the next year's model....nothing really improved, but some fellow racers wondered about the colors of the transmitter.

But to import stuff, there's taxes, tariffs, shipping costs, supply problems. business costs like office space, wharehouse space, employees, website,....that's why business have to charge what they do.

hey, you know what? S/H will kill all the deals...and you don't wanna make a flight to China in order to get those "hot" deals, right?

Economic conditions in Asia are not exactly peachy right now, and comparing prices there to prices in America proves nothing other than the dollar is strong in Asia.

Too bad for you guys
My hometown is Taiwan and I go back there every year to buy hardware.
It's cheaper over there, no taxes whatsoever.
I can get a fully loaded Pentium 4 system for a US$600.
I know there's airplane fee and those taxing sh*t....but who cares if you buy a little and bring it over to the States?
