The fan on my GeForce 2 graphics card is making funny noises! Can you get replacement fans for graphics cards? or should i just get a new (better) one?

Mine makes noises all the time (fan) when I start it up.

It quiets down eventually.

I do have a GeForce 4 Ti4200 lying around that I could always replace with if the GeForce2 craps out or I get overly annoyed.

give it a good blow (with canned air  )

if that fails to quiet it, get a new card, the hassle/time/$ (~$10 with shipping) it will take to replace it isn't worth it . but be sure to sell the old card on FS/T , somebody will buy it that already has a fan they can replace the old one with

Shouldn't that be the other way around? If not...why, then?

A GF2 fan can be easily replaced if cleaning it out with can of compressed air doesn't work. A cheap Thermaltake Blue Orb (among other fans out there) is a perfect swap.

if the can of air doesn't work, take a little WD40 and spray it on the motor.

WD40 isn't a permanent fix...while it stops noise for a while it is actually a degreaser.
