I was configuring a couple of notebooks and I noticed that the Mobile Radeon was more expensive than the GeForce 2 GO. I thought that the GeForce 2 Go was more powerful than the Radeon. Which one is better?

Really?

In configuring my Dell Inspiron 4100 last monthm the Geforce was $100 more than the Radeon.

Instead, I went with the ATI 16MB DDR Mobility Radeon. It is fine for my 14.1" TFT (1024x768 native resolution). With a 866Mhz P-III-M and 320 MB PC-133 it has no problem with Max Payne with 32bit color and all details set to mid - ZERO slowdowns.

That said - I would have got the GeForce 2 GO in a heartbeat if it was the same price. It is without ANY doubt the better card for gaming. Just make sure you don't order the super high resolution screen or even it will have trouble playing the latest games at a satifactory frame rate.

ATI Mobility Radeon. Why? Just because I like the name better. :)

But if you're planning on gaming, save yourself some money and build a gf3 system... cheaper and better framerates. Laptops are not for gaming, so it doesnt matter either way. Even laptops with integrated video will do you fine (for non-gaming uses, that is).

The 64MB Radeon Mobility that dell offers in the i8100 uses a 128bit data path compared to the GF2Go's 64bit.
