geforce 2 card acting up

a friend tried installing a geforce 2 mx 400 pci on a celeron running windows me
the problem is the card can't seem to show red, every thing that is supposed to be red is green
not sure what could cause this, tried the card in 3 different systems and it worked fine
system sees the card and if i try another card everything works fines
does anyone have any idea as to what will cause this to happen

I'm assuming that you were seeing colors displayed correctly on this systems monitor when you had another card
installed ? and that the card works correctly on other boards ?


My first thought would be corrupt video drivers, I'd d/load fresh drivers, uninstall the old ones and try again with the new.

the system did have a tnt2 card in it which works, the geforce 2 card was put in 3 other systems
and worked , this system sits in the same room as 2 other computers, had all 3 systems displaying the
same wallpaper, the wallpaper is moslty red, after putting in geforce card it there is no red, they card was put in the
other systems and the wallpaper stayed the same , this was with the drivers that came off the cd
and i know they went to nvida's site and download drivers from them with no change
the only things i know of about this system that is different is that it is running windows me, the rest are
using 98, it has a flatscreen monitor and it's a celeron,

Have you tried setting this card to be a "Standard VGA" videocard and viewed the colors? I'd do that first, then I'd use NVCleaner to wipe out all old Nvidia settings:

Once you've done those two things, reinstall the latest Detonator drivers from Nvidia.
