Geforce 2 is basically a higher clocked version of the orginal geforce 256. The only other difference is the GeForce 2 GTS is capable of processing two textures per pipeline in a single clock versus the one texture per pipeline on the original GeForce.
Clock speeds for the original geforce was 120mhz core, and 300mhz memory for the DDR version.
Clock speeds for geforce2 is 200mhz core, and 333mhz memory. I would definately buy the geforce2 instead of the original geforce, because it'll last you longer before you'll have to upgrade again.
