In order to get the good grades discount on my auto insurance, Im required to bring into my local office a copy of my grades from the previous semester.

The problems started 3 years ago when my university went to an 'online only' grading policy, and paper grades were no longer mailed out. The only way i can get my grades is through the school website, and print them out. Only problem with it is that the way my school designed the page, my name and my social security number arent visible.

I would bring the prinout into my local office, but each time we brought in the printout, after telling us they cant take it, they would usually accept it reluctantly.

Well now ive got an even bigger problem. After spending last semester in Holland, im still waiting to hear back about half of my grades (currently have 3/6) and probably wont get anything official for another 2-3 months. Not only that but they have a grading scale thats different than ours (1-10 instead of A-F) and State Farm is refusing to accept my universities equvilancy scale and therefore denying me from getting the discount.

Looks like im SOL until i can figure somethin out... Any ideas?

Doesn't your school print out transcripts? I've never known anyone to accept printouts. I get transcripts after every semester in case I want a job interview or if I want to fill out a scholarship application. They both require official transcripts from the school with your grades, name, social security, etc.

As for the Holland school, you'll have to work that out with your State Farm agent.

You can get transcripts done regardless of what their "mailing policy" is. Just go to the office of the registrar and ask for a paper transcript. Should cost about 10 bucks or so.

I'm pretty sure State Farm doesn't need to check every semester(at least mine doesn't). I'd ask you agent for a corporate number, if he can't do anything ask him to find out who can.

Usually you can go to the university registrar and get a copy of your transcript, which would have all your grades on it. That should suffice for State Farm. I don't know what to tell you about your grades from Holland, you crazy dutch bastard. ;) :D

I'm pretty sure he's in Florida and his grades are in Holland though.

You might be SOL for the discount until those grades come. But they might refund you the difference once the grades come in.

Yea, and considering how hard its even been to get an email response to my inquiries about getting my transcript with all my grades from Holland, there isnt a way in HELL that they would mail me one.

The only means of seeing my grades from Holland is through their website.

As for the other semesters, when I could only get a printout. Grades dont typically come out until after i have left for the semester, making obtaining a transcript a bit harder. Im gonna look into the possibility that they could mail it down to me though.

One more thing, State Farm has checked my grades EVERY semester since i got my car. :(

Unless you live in NJ, don't complain. Even with my good grades discount, no collision, and a car from 1984, I have to pay $1200 a year, and that's good.

I've always had good luck with State Farm, but then again, my family has been using the same agent for almost 40 years. Try talking with the agent personally, and not with the secretaries in his office if you haven't already. A lot of times the agent can be more flexible than the secretaries.

I am still getting my discount for a good student through American Family despite the fact I have not been to school in over 3 years :)

Are you sure there's no way to have physical grade reports mailed to you?
