I find it is much easier to talk to people while buzzing... I am not a social butterfly so I need that to hit off conversations...

I will be the first to tell you though, when there is a room full of drunks around you, nothing is more fun than being SOBER... I love walking up to them and just slapping them in the face... Their reaction is always priceless... lol...

I wish people actually partied around where I live :(

lol, had the exact same thing happen to me last year (yes, even the same feeling of thinking clearly, but not controlling yourself)

I still like alcohol, but I never get drunk anymore, instead I get my friends drunk, its much more fun seeing THEM make asses of themselves :)

If you don't enjoy drinking, just don't do it. I'm almost 28 and have never been drunk in my whole life, not that I didn't try just like you. But I was out at a pub and ran out of money before even feeling the slightest buzz. It just took too much and I didn't enjoy the taste so after that I kind of stopped drinking and is always the designated driver instead, making sure that my friends get home safe. And people saying that people that doesn't drink at parties are party-poopers are just dead wrong. You don't need alcohol to enjoy yourself and I'm living proof of that. I'm always the center of attention at parties and always get defended when someone who doesn't know me try to get me to drink to have more fun.

Like I said, just don't drink if you don't like it.

Well, the only people that drinks to get drunk are stupid 18 year olds. Most people have a few beers or wine socially and to kick back by the pool or when BBQ'ing. Being completely wasted is no fun but some people don't understand that.

Have a couple drinks at a game or party next time instead of pounding shots.

Maybe that's how it is in Arizona, but that certainly can't be said in other places. Here in NYC, it's the twenty and thirty-something-year-olds which do the drinking.

I think beer tastes like total crap... I'm not much a partier, but I don't care... I don't see the point of getting drunk off my ass just for the hell of it...

so yeah, I'll stick with being a dork or whatever it is since I don't drink, but I'm fine with it.

Getting wasted is not the same thing as drinking.
Moderate amounts of alcohol can help you to enjoy things and not give you a hang over, unless you have an extremely low tolerance.
Beer always tastes messed up when you first start drinking it, so does wine. Things change and it becomes a taste that you can enjoy!
Just stay away from irresponsible underage drinking, nothing but trobule.;)

Hmm, what I've learned about drinking, wether it be right or wrong.

I personally hate the taste of almost all alcohol (A tablespoon of kahlua in milk is divine though) and I don't see the point in getting drunk. Far as I understand it one of the more common (but not the only) reasons for people to get drunk is it is an escape, when they are drunk they don't have to think about their problems and for a time can get away from them. For me I prefer a book, I can escape just as easily and I don't have to worry about the morning after.

Some people do like the taste of alcohol though. My father in law who has never gotten drunk since college enjoys a beer now and then. He likes the taste of it.

Most everyone else I know doesn't really care for alcohol or will on occasion drink a drink, but not get a buzz or drunk.

That's what I've learned about drinking.

Deeko, stick with your safe addiction of posting here. :)

Same here... I'm 20, 5'7 and 140 lbs. I can eat all day and I NEVER gain weight. Or muscle. :(

You didn't do it right. Drinking alcohol is pretty lame. Tranquilizers, marijuana, opium, X, Percasit, vikadin, oxy cottin, coke, whatever your pleasure is + alcohol is a lot more fun. It doesnt take much of either to knock you up pretty good.

If you are going with straight alcohol, mix in the Nyquil for some kick:D:):p

Now that is fun.

Mixing beer with liquor can result in a bad buzz, anyway, even if you go lightly. I can't mix the two at all because I just start feeling like crap not long after. First experiences are often misleading, in terms of how much you can drink. I've heard an explanation for this, but I can't remember why.

So even though you packed quite a bit away for your first time, do not be lulled into believing you can drink that much or more on your next few tries. Always go slowly and try to enjoy the night not the alcohol. If you don't pace yourself, you're always a few drinks ahead of how you feel, so by the time you realize you've had too much, you should have stopped three or four drinks ago and its too late.

Don't be influenced by the 'if you don't drink this much then you're a wuss' crowd. These are almost exclusively idiots of the highest order who think that getting stupid slobering drunk is 'cool'. Its not.

i personally like a lot of alcoholic drinks, but i stopped drinking to get drunk a long time ago. just too much effort. drinking socially and with food (pizza and beer... mmmmmmh) is good enough for me, and the occasional beer when i come home from work or school.
