Geez, they're bringing back "V"

Weekly Science Fiction show in 1983

I saw it recently, man does it look dated. Effects and all. Started off with the premise that we have visitors (hence, 'V') from another planet that come to our planet seeking peaceful coexistence. Carried the themes of Nazi culture (people who succumb to the power and privilege of the others), "To Serve Man" episode of the Twiglight Zone, and had Marc Singer as the good looking hero (as I said, it was made in the early '80s).

I know they had BattleStar Galactica come to our planet and that season failed miserably (think A-team with blasters), but why can't Sci-Fi do a one season deal that has much darker and grimmer theme. I know that one guy from the show (the boring one, the squadron leader) is always at those scifi conventions hawking his screenplay and trying to raise capital for it. I've read it, it ain't bad, but it really isn't good.

I'm getting bitten by this nostalgia bug. I think I need to find a DVD copy of Logan's Run, if one is available. A girl I'm seeing has never seen it (I think she was too young to see it when it came out).

Used to love that show, course I was like 9 or so when it aired.

Local blockbuster has it on dvd, but it does look cheesy and dated now though

I remember the miniseries "'V' the Final Battle" and getting freaked out when those human/alien twins were born. The first baby looked like a normal human except it had a forked tongue, and the second was some disgusting lizard-like creature that later died.

Of course, there was the meat locker, too. <shudder>

Don't forget, Freddy Kreuger guy was the nice alien

V had some of the corniest lines too..

Daniel: Where are they taking me Steven
Steven: To someplace where you will serve us well.... the dinner plate!
