While watching DVD movies on my laptop the DVD drive spins way too fast creating noise which ruines the entire experiance. How can I slow it down to say 2x so that I can watch movies without all the spinning noise.

I tried nero drive speed and it does nothing for DVD opertation. Its only for CD operation. :(

HELP!

That noise suggests that your disk is a bit out of balance. Is it just as noisy with a good quality music CD? Anyway, what you ask is most likely not doable, so here's a work-around. Get yourself a good set of headphones, plug 'em in and watch the movie with only the movie's sound track.

Its not out of balance it just spins at full 8X which creates noise.

There is no need to have it spinning that fast while watching a movie....there has to be a fix....I cant be the only one that has this problem...

it's spinning that fast to read it fast...you can't slow it down, and it will screw it up if you do.

Thanks but you're 100% wrong.....

You only need 1x for DVD playback. There is no reason for it to be running at 8x just to watch a movie.....
