Geez, can't even play Mass Effect without it crashing every 10 minutes....

It first began in the levels were you are first exposed to the tanks. After that, it would consistently crash as soon as I see the first enemy tower. About 50 attempts later, I finally got past that section but the crashes came again at random moments. What is with this game? I'm on Windows SP3, DX9.1 June 2008, nVidia 175.16 drivers, everything is updated and smooth, stock CPU/GPU....I get the "Mass Effect has experienced an unexpected error" blah blah blah related to the module "physx.dll" of some sort

Don't feel bad, I had similar issues. I have 8800GTX Ultras in SLI and it gave me a load of issues. Especially the savegames. I got frustrated and decided to stop playing it and trade it.

Some players have had ZERO issues with it, I personally have had way to many for my liking and I find the game visually stunning and gameplay a bore.

I played it from start to finish without a single crash or lockup on Vista x64.

lektrix what soundcard are you using?..Anything like Dameon tools installed?

this is WAY more frustrating than ALL of the other crashes, etc. i've heard of associated with this game.


i was able to play this game perfectly for about 12 hours or so. and my gf even got into the storyline.


and now it won't load past the splash screen :/

x-fi + daemon tools is installed
