Mandatory: because the TSA banned them from flying.

Because the younger geese can't fly yet so it's the only option they have left to get around.

Goslings can fly approximately 2-3 months after hatching. I can't see the video... but what i've observed of geese... they barely leave the hatching area for that 2-3 months.. they usually don't go wandering.

My brother and I found three adult ducks walking through my neighborhood as a kid. Strange, because there's not even a lake anywhere nearby. We fed them and kept them. They liked our wading pool, so we sunk it into the ground and built a pond.

The 3 ducks all looked completely different. One was a Mallard (beautiful), another was a hybrid Mallard (looked more like Daffy Duck), and another was a white farm duck. We named them Bobby, Pesto, and Squit.

A long time later, some neighborhood dog killed Squit. We took the other ducks to a lake far away.

we got way too many of those damn birds here. They don't even fly south any more. They just live here and make mounds of poop. Everywhere.
