I haven't read the books, but I've heard that Luke re-founded the Jedi Order after the death of the Emporer. That makes sense, but I heard he set it up significantly different than it had been before the Empire (from reading summaries and things like that).

Anyway, it seems that Luke would have had a lot of guidance from the ghosts of Obi-wan, Yoda, and Anakin when he was setting up the new Jedi Order - why would he do it differently than they suggested?

In ROTS book, it was suggested that the Jedi has not adapted their ways over time, as the Sith had. Yoda spent time reflecting on this on Dagobah and I suppose the force ghosts imparted this wisdom to Luke before they finally lost contact.

Luke's guidance was limited. Read the timothy zahn trilogy at least. It's probably at the library. Most records of the jedi were destroyed by the emporer, and the ghosts don't seem able to just show up all the time.
