I had this weird idea, about some geek reality show where like.. there are programmers, network admins, setting up networks and coding programs...

Do you think this would be successful? Would you watch it?

😕

The only controversy would be whether to use KDE or GNOME for their XWindow session on their linux box.. 😀

Oh, come now... you could make the entire first season the selection of the distro 😛

This is a valid point. 🙂

How about a bunch of Anandtech geeks on a cross country scavanger/treasure hunt to find the uber parts necessary to build the ultimate conroe gaming rig.

The first one to find all the parts, assemble the rig and pass two instances of Prime95 for 12 hrs wins a date with Jessica Alba with Chuck Norris as a chaperon🙂

By the time the hunt was over, they would need to upgrade..

There will be BSD vs. Linux controversy in the first season.

During the second season, when the geeks get replaced by wannabe geeks, there will be the KDE vs. Gnome fight. Everybody knows that real geeks don't use X, and if they have to use it, they use *wm or *box 🙂

I figured Season Two would be a new crew of ATOT'ers that searched the globe for the body parts of Season One's crew. Chuck Norris would have roundhouse-kicked the entire Season One crew and their bodies would have been blown all over earth from it's devastating force.

And let's not forget the classic season three, where the vi nerds have a DDoS fight with the emacs crew.

it would be interesting if they did it for nothing too

we had a competition here at uni, for groups of people to get as far as they could and back again for free. (for charity of course) some guys made it to the carribean (from UK) and back for nothing!

now getting across america by blagging lifts and air tickets, and then blagging computer parts and food, now that would be good
