buy more RAM
yes, only to accommodate a browser that won't give it back. Again, think there's a problem with that ? 1GB is more than enough anyway.

WTF did you do?

Firefox has never used anywhere close to that much RAM for me, even with a zillion tabs open...

opened multiple windows, not tabs, because a javascript called for it.. no option to open in tabs. But anyway, the point is it doesn't give it back after the windows are closed. Have to close the browser. What if I had multiple tabs open in the 1 browser window and don't want to close the browser ? I'd be sucking it big time till I could close it all...

EDIT>> LOL ironically, the song playing is called CRAWL AWAY...

I think you should start using IE so you can complain more 😛

Nah, Firefox has its quirks...but overall, i love it.

what's the reason they aren't addressing this ? I think they've mentioned it's for caching reasons... but come on...

Agree.

I was opening more than one window as well when this happen but I was looking at the hurricane!

You can open Javascript popups in tabs...
how ? especially if it's a thumbnail picture... when clicked, it spawns a new .html page displaying the jpg.

I dunno, maybe I have the option because I'm using Tab Mix. The only problem is then there's a little bit of content in a full-size tab. I have it set to open JS popups in a separate window as well.

Go to the URL about:config

right click and add a new integer value called "browser.cache.memory.capacity"
Set the value in K that you want the memory cache to be limited to, i.e. (131072 means 128MB).
