I heard the first song on the radio here in Boston. Different. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

I think there might be one rush fan here (it's not me )...I think someone has something like 'I'm a rush fan so I must be stoopid' or something in his signature, not sure.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee - how did it get so high? (I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?)

There was just a poll in this forum a few days back titled &quot;Select your favorite Rush album&quot;. When I read the thread, 2112 was kicking some tail in the poll.

About 16 years ago, I was in the military. I was stationed in N.D. and at some missle sites which were about 10 - 20 miles from the Canadian border. I remember picking up Canadian stations on the radio at 2 or 3 in the morning and rocking to Rush. Their songs kept me awake and motivated. I'm glad to hear some new material is on the way.

Everyone go get it now! I just got it and thought it was just pure awesome. Not quite traditional rush sound, but wow.....I love it.

Edit:I'm 19 so you can't say Rush doesn't have some younger listeners Tom Sawyer is still my fave rush though!

Thanks for the link Optoman... Rush does get some new generation fans too! I got into them 5 years ago when I was 16. It happened that the day I started listening to Rush was the day I wanted to learn how to play guitar

That song kicks ass! I love the bass in the intro! I was reading up on some Rush news and stumbled upon some stuff that I had idea had happened!

I used to like Rush until one roommate used to play 2112 over and over and over again. Continuously, days on end. Then I hated Rush.

years later, I saw them in concert and was very very impressed. However, I still get a negative knee-jerk reaction whenever I hear any song off 2112

I couldn't believe some people though Rush was a satan worshipping band! I do see how the man on the cover looks like a demons face though. I read an article on Neil Pearts defense about this accusation; It was really intersting to read.
