The most useful tidbit I got from that article is that future Ati cards will incorporate CF logic onboard, hence no need for master cards. I'm not a fan of dual gpu solutions, but as long as the dual x1600 sells for ~$250 and has no driver issues/limitations, then it might be a good card for the money.

I think Dual GPU cards are a waste.

It better sell for $200 or less becuase you can get X1600XT's for $132 now

However, the dual-chip on a single PCB can be used in non-SLI motherboards, like the $125 compusa specials. So from that standpoint, it may be worth a slight price premium.

A more valid comparison would be another single slot card like the 7600GT and X850XT that's in the same performance ballpark as 2xX1600Pro.
