Well if you look around i am pretty sure you can get a 360 pro pack for $350 then just buy dead rising and Gears of War. XBOX Live gold you can do either pay per month or buy a $50 year subscription. Anyways its a good time buy a 360. Loads of cool arcade games and other games to try out.

Not in late 07 , It would follow the same pattern as Halo series get ported to XBOX 360. The game will come out when gears of War 2 is about to ship , so late 08 the earliest. Microsoft didn't spend over 100million + on marketing the crap out of gears of war for it get to ported in one year.

Well, don't forget that you get a free month of xbox live with every profile you create 😛. I created a Japanese profile the other day to get the exclusive Japanese demos (yes, there are Japanese-only demos) and I got a free month of xbox live with the japanese profile (boy was that fun to create, thank you Google for giving me a fake Japanese address 😛). Doing so in no way hampers your current account's XBL as my main account has 12 months.
So hey, if you don't like XBL after a month, just don't subscribe 🙂. There are some awesome games available on the Marketplace too... I can't help but play Lumines for hours on end. Totemball is crazy, but also kinda hard (those camera controls are just impossible sometimes).
There are also some good games coming out in the next couple of months that you may be interested in. Especially since you mentioned FFXII, you'd be interested in the Mistwalker Studios games.

i socred a 3month old 360 premium with all the cables (vga, component, composite, scart etc) 2 wireless controller, windows media-esq dvd remote, play and charge kit, special edition of oblivion, burnout revenge for £15 more than the premium pack costs new!
i also bought a 12month xbox live subscription off an ebay store for £22 when its supposed to be £40 +, they emailed the code the same night and i was playing online in no time
buying new just isnt the way........ 2nd hand ftw!
Who says it would follow the same pattern as Halo and who says it will come when GoW 2 is ready to ship? Are you just making this up as you go along? While I don't have a link ATM, what I said came from Epic/Microsoft. If it doesn't make it by late '07, it's would only be because of technical delays or if they flat-out change their minds. As of right now, this is their intent.

You don't HAVE to buy the official 360 wireless adapter. You can use the old Xbox wireless adapter or any of the many other solutions from Linksys, Netgear, etc.
Still, as others have said, there are many other reasons other than GoW to pick up a 360 and more on the way.

I played a bit of the single-player last night (up to the introduction of the Beserker) to get used to the controls and then played online for a good two hours or so. Even though it was only 4x4 the levels are so tight that the firefights didn't get boring and tactics were constantly changing.
The only mode of online play that was dull was the "Assassination" mode though. This mode crys out to make use of camping and hiding. This resulted in two "Draws" when I was playing.
Even on my SDTV, GoW looked great. I can't wait for my HDTV to get fixed so I can play it there.
My only complaint is that sometimes the enemy AI gets dumb and the friendly AI gets stuck if you don't pass the right checkpoint.
Is it me, or does the voice of Fenix kind of sound like the voice of Wolverine in the old 90s cartoon?

I just finished with the prison breakout opening. Hell of a game. The visuals are so damn lifelike.

I'd consider the DVD player to be a moot point considering 99% of people already have a DVD player. The PC media connectivity I also find to be an extra I'll never use. MOST of the 360's games I've seen so far seem uninteresting (although GoW looks fantastique, and CoD 3 looks promising)
I was reading my old roommate's PC magazine (they still get delivered to my apartment even though he moved to TX 😛) yesterday and they were comparing the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. Something I didn't know was the difference in max resolution:
Wii: 480p
Xbox 360: 720p
PS3: 1080p
Also, the Wii can't play DVD movies, only games. The Xbox 360's new "HD DVD" will not let you play HD DVD games (so don't expect that) only movies. Once you add that $200 player though (which is technically a good price for an HD DVD player) it's costing you just as much as the gruntier PS3 (which will have Blue Ray games).
They say the PS3's online functions are no where near as refined and "grandiose" as Microsoft's XBL.

wrong..,. as of 3 days ago the fall update came out bringing the 360 up to 1080p.. and ebfore that it could do 1080i anyway.
as for the game.. to me it doesnt feel much different than GRAW.. its ok but nothing amazing...
its a typical 3rd person shooter...
and the R6 vegas demo is better than any level ive played in GoW and im into Act3 6 hours deep..
just another overhyped game..
I am torn between this and CoD 3. Local gamestop has CoD3, but wont get GoW until tommorow.
I am torn because I hear such great things about GoW, but I personally think it looks bland, and that only using cover would get really boring, that and the fact that I think CoD3 would have better multiplayer.

If that's your mindset than I'd suggest GoW as how much different is CoD 3 going to be than CoD 2? Don't expect a drastically different game. GoW is at least trying something new. And I was under the mindset that GoW would be boring repetitive, but from what I've read so far it doesn't.
