Gears of war 2 bugs

Im playing on the toughest difficulty available at the start, the one that has the description "you know how to pull off a headshot" i dont remember what its called. Anyways ive encountered two really frickin annoying bugs, is there any remedy to these?? The first one wont matter so much because i muddled through eventually but im stuck at the second one.

1. You get stuck on the boat fighting the giant sea creature, ususally when the boat tilts when a tentacle is trying to drag it under your supposed to go cut the tentacle but oh no! you cant move, you glitch around stuck in the one spot. I find this happens a lot more to the rear of the boat.

2. Ive just read this is a glitch, i thought it was just extremely difficult. Shoot down 6 reavers to defend the com tower.... i got 4 as my absolute best. Apparently theyre supposed to land on the road down below!!! Only 1-2 of them land if im lucky the rest just fly past and that gatling gun is hopeless for high speed AA duty because it dosent do enough damage and it tracks too slowly and overheats too quickly. To top it all off the ones that land dont die quickly enough so the rest just fly past. How do i make more of them land? Do i have to restart the level or what? Dom yells "man the gun" and theres two of them and he just stands there.... if the bastard helped me i could do this lol.

The toughest difficulty available at the start is hardcore.

Yeah i said at the start because i noticed that something below it was greyed out. After these bugs, and those theron guards with torque bows and those bastards with mobile mortar and those freakin reavers theres no way in hell im gonna try insane after this... no way!

I don't think the second one is a glitch. You just have to try and shoot the reavers as much as possible while they are flying by. Only two of them land. It can be done, but playing this part of co-op probably helps.

I just loaded it up again there and managed it first try. Its definately a glitch because they all landed this time and it was easy. Shot 6 of them, all on the ground.
