? No video display
? PC will not boot
? Error: 1-2 beep code
? AGP video card does not work
My PC won't POST after I put my GeForce card in.
card:ASUS GEFORCE4 MX WITH TV OUT
machinePENTIUM-III 500MHz(SLOT 1),INTEL-i440BX-2 ORIGINAL MOTHERBOARD,190MB RAM,WIN XP HOME OS,RIVA TNT-2 32 MB GRAHICS CARD.
CARD BRAND NEW ,ERROR FREE,CONTACTS CLEANED.
RESPONSE FROM TECHINACAL HELP "ASUS":
U may find that on motherboards that are only AGP 1.0 compliant you may be able to fix this problem by putting insulating tape over the last pair of contacts on the AGP connector on the GeForce card (the contact furthest from the monitor port, on both sides).
DONE THIS BUT PROBLEM PRESISTS.
DO I NEED A NEW MOTHERBOARD

No, no, first you start by selecting which particular card you want to purchase. Maybe he's having trouble with that. Or maybe he's not sure a GF4 is the right GPU for him and actually wants to get advice about comparing it to other GPUs.

Or maybe his computer is just locking up and he's decided arbitrarily that his video card is too hot and wants help with changing the heatsink.

I think the most likely thing is he can't read his screen because his new GF4 isn't working. Which would explain the thread title.

Either the kids comp crapped out as he was typing the post, and mystically posted a blank thread. Or this is a troll. I can't think of anything else.

The card could have ate him, and this is a call for help. We the villagers should get our pitch forks and go to lynch the out of control GeForce 4 that ate micky123.

Got this response from technical help of ASUS:

DONE THIS BUT STILL PROBLEM PRESISTS.

I'm confused, you still have the original card in or what? You really won't see that much of an improvement on this system.
