^^ lots of "revised down" there.

Headline on cnn money is "Wall Street on Track for Worst Week in a Year After GDP Data"

Who needs to waste time worrying about a non-existent chance of default when the economy is screwed just fine without one?

When basic fuel costs 200% more then it should what do people honestly expect?

The market is ripe for alternative investments. We really need to become an energy exporter somehow and dominate that market.

It's too late for that now. The government's policies have been too little or too much but in any case the economy is still a mess, unemployment high, and now so much debt that it is likely to lower credit rating in the relatively near future. Whatever they've been trying isn't working.

There's no money for this alternative investment, which is otherwise a good idea. So much of the deficit is just going toward day to day, there isn't $300B on the sidelines to throw into solar panels and wind turbines.

Not allowed -- Nuclear is evil, gas and coal are evil. How do you export wind? Take all the hot air from Washington and have a huge turbine blow it east, south or north to other countries?

It's going to get worse in the near future when federal government spending gets slashed on top of already draconian cuts from state and local governments.

The Obama Economy in full action. This is what he wants, were you not paying attention to what he's been saying since he campaigned?

nuclear is clean, cheap and safe. should do as the french and built a shitload of nuke reactors but own around 70% of them to control them.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I completely agree. I am just parroting what the enviro-whackos would say. Me personally, I would gladly have nuclear IN my backyard in lieu of what the current electric utilities are using now.

I'll just leave this right here...

With a republican house poised to stop all that Obama has been doing to destroy our economy some sense of certainty is being felt by all business and consumers. This is no surprise, once you stop Obama and his attack on business/capitalism the economy will take off again.

The wave was already known then along with the outcome. It was predicted along with the economic rebound. As long as Obama could be stopped, the economy would turn around. If he wasn't stopped then the downward spiral would continue.

We The People have neutered his agenda and the power of the free market and capitalism will take over since he can do no more harm now.

And Republicans want to cut government spending by 5% of GDP in the middle of a recession.

This is certainly a major component, oil prices are still horribly inflated but no one with the power to stop this stupid shit really seems to care about it.

As far as use being a leader - I think that ship has sailed. China owns the world market on rare earth elements that are necessary to create solar panels and all the rest, they are restricting exports to meet domestic needs, we have only started ramping up our own RE programs. It'll take us another 10-15 years to be able to meet our own needs.

To the matter at hand - I'd be surprised if there wasn't a run on the banks come Tuesday, despite FDIC being completely sound and separate from the rest of this mess, people are starting to panic.

I was mistaken. There is simply no way to get out of this with him still in the white house as his policies are still in action.

See to sane people it just looks like you want to blame Obama for everything bad and credit the GOP for everything good. Just call him the racial epithet you clearly want to and get it over with.

Have you not been paying attention to a huge number of businessmen saying until he gets out of the way we won't grow? This is purely based on his attack on capitalism and business and libtards insanely cheering him on - "yeah! Go get those evil businesses, get'em Obama, yeah! Oh, and coal/oil - get them to!"

How about his energy policies? have you not been paying attention to them and what it's doing? "energy prices would necessarily skyrocket under my plan" - BHO

Its okay. The Job Creators (tm) get to keep more of their money and will hire more people, produce more stuff, and send government revenue through the roof with all that increased economic activity! The wealth will trickle down! Any day now, you'll see! :whiste:

Besides, Keynes sounds too much like Kenyan anyway. We can't have that! Don't you know the Austrian school of Awesomeness is all the rage now? If we simply live within our means, everything will take care of itself. Everybody has bootstraps to pull on, but the Socialist in the Whitehouse won't let you, which spooks business with uncertainty for some uncertain reason. If only we had a conservative in the White House again to give his blessing again... :(

Job creators = consumers........

A business can't be profitable and stay in business if they have no demand for their products.

Business exist to serve consumers, not the other way around. No consumers, no businesses. What we need in this country is a pro-consumer policy agenda, not a pro-business agenda. When ordinary Americans cannot afford to buy products because their wages have been stagnant and jobs scarce, they will hold onto what little they have left and not spend. Businesses can be sitting on piles and piles of money that they didn't send to Uncle Sam and not hire anybody or give raises to their average worker. That is exactly what is happening.

ROFLMAO!

....and we wonder why we are in this mess. Just read that quote again.....that is when you stop laughing from reading it the first time.
