gdmsetup crashes?

Hi. I wanted to change a few things around so I ran GDMsetup.. It would appear breifly on the screen and then crash on me. Obviously I was confused by this. I ran it in terminal and it would open up and crash giving me a 'segmentation fault'.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be? I was thinking it MIGHT be scim (i remember segmentation faults from adobe reader) but I don't know how to disable it so I'm not sure.

edit:

i disabled scim (wasn't hard at all..just delete a single file in my home directory) but I still get the segmentation error.
