Is there anyway for me to customize gdm? I want to customize gdm to something more graphical like the XP login. Is there anyway to do that? Or would I need to reprogram gdm?

it probably wouldn't be a major overhaul to change it in the code...then you could really make it look however you want.

gdm has a .conf file, usually in /etc/X11/gdm. You can specify a GTK theme, background images, font, all sorts of things. But I'd have to guess that the best way to make it look like Winders XP is to install Winders XP.

The best part about all these systems is they each have their own personality. I dont want my Mac OS logon to look like my OpenBSD logon which I dont want to look like the XP logon I will have in the near future which I dont want to look like a linux logon which I wouldnt want to look like a FreeBSD logon. I wont even get into all the changes WITHIN the OSes themselves and how I deffinately want each one to work in atleast slightly different ways. :)
