I was just wondering how the W900 compares to the FW900 as it seems that everybody wants the latter. I know the FW900 is flat screen, but other than that, how is the quality of the W900. I ask because somebody is selling a system with the W900 and I wanted to know if it's a good deal or not. Here are the specs:

AMD S754 3000+
Gigabyte GA-K8U
ATI Sapphire X850XT
256mb DDR
Maxtor 80GB
Sony GDM-W900 monitor

He's looking for about $600. If it was the FW900 instead, it would be no question. But since it's the W900, I'm not sure.

I havent seen a W900 in person but the specs arent so great when compared to the FW900.. perhaps if you could see the monitor in action first?

W900's vertical pitch is .25mm vs. FW900's .23mm which means the FW900 displays higher resolutions with more detail & sharpness (vertical pitch is differant from the dot pitch rating used on shadow mask crt's)

W900's max res is 1920x1200 @ 76hz vs. FW900's 2304x1440 @ 80hz, personaly I run my FW900 1920x1200 @ 98hz (desktop res)

Here's the datasheets for both monitors:

W900
FW900

Tough call without actually seeing the monitor first ....
