Better not do that to me if I'm in a crosswalk (not saying that was necessarily the case here). Someone did that to me and my girlfriend once when we were crossing in a crosswalk (he had a stop sign). He started revving his engine and honking his horn (some dumb kid). So I just stood in front of his car and stared at him for a good 15 seconds. Kid didn't know what to do.
When I was younger, I was crossing in a crosswalk with my mom. Some dumb woman wanted to make a right on red, which of course she's allowed to do but not when there are people in front of her car. She started revving and honking, so my mom took the 32oz big gulp of diet coke she was holding and threw it across her windshield. (She has a bit of a temper, but I thought it was justified here

)
edit-This thread kinda got me thinking. This isn't the first rant I've seen directed at pedestrians, cyclists, etc from drivers; not just on this forum, but in other mediums too. I've been realizing more and more how obsessed Americans (and other developed nations) have become with our cars. EVERYONE has a car-suburban cities are so sprawling (and the public transportation systsem is so bad) you couldn't get anywhere in any reasonable amount of time without one. Everybody's in such a hurry-we don't even get out of our cars to eat anymore, let alone carpool (meaning we'd have to go out of our way to pick others up). No one walks anywhere, and most people don't own a functioning bike. Walking, one of our most basic human functions, has somehow become viewed as a form of "exercise" now, instead of just a way to go somewhere. Cyclists are always harrassed, with people swerving toward them to try and make them fall (see it happen all the time, experienced it, too). Pedestrians get hassled as well-people intentionally swerving towards the sidewalk to splash them in the rain, or revving their engines while someone's in the crosswalk. And then, their fat asses slide out of their car, plop down in front of the computer and write rants like some people have done in this thread, stating "how dare people who are walking get in the way of my vehicle that carried me at 60 mph to my destination, forcing me to wait for a few more seconds."
That was an incredibly meandering paragraph, I'm sorry if it made no sense. I absolutely agree that everyone (pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers) all need to be aware of one another and be courteous. But I guess my point is that many drivers, who have the huge advantage at getting where they are going in a short amount of time, are always the first to complain about someone (some damn pedestrian) "delaying" them.
