man...400mhz for 280...that is so sad

Why oh why the mac? I wanted to get one once. They look so cool.

ITs too bad their hardware is absolutely suck.

I would get one, but I like to buy parts and fiddle with my computer all day. You would have to be a millionaire to do that with a mac.

man, all I gotta say is 280 is more than a brand new duron 600+mobo+geforce MX

Chew on that

i wouldnt look down on macs in any way shape or form. Look what all the high end studios use for audio editing and recording and graphics arts they are all macs. and as for 400mhz, you ever see how fast 400 mhz is in a mac, remember that it is a RISC chip it has less instructions needed to do the same types of tasks vs our chips, not to mention the architecture of the G3/4 is awsome. I own a PC, always will but never never underestimate the power of a mac

I don't think it's TOO expensive, although they can be had cheaper elsewhere. And that's a 400mhz G4 with 1 meg of cache, not G3. running at full processor speed. Xeon 400's are about $130 with 1 meg cache at 1/2 proc speed, if I remember correctly...

I remember a bunch of benchmarks that were done, and a 1 Gig PIII was beaten by a G4 450. Hm....... ;)
